Angel City FC officially announced that the club has acquired midfielder Ally Sentnor from the Kansas City Current in exchange for $850,000 in intraleague transfer funds.
The club has made a flurry of moves in the past week beginning with the transfer of midfielder Kennedy Fuller to Bay FC for $500,000, then subsequently announcing the firing of Head Coach Alex Straus.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Angel City FC. What makes this club special is its commitment to excellence on the field and meaningful
impact off it. The ambition, passion, and purpose throughout the organization are inspiring, and I’m eager to contribute in every way I can,” said Sentnor in a statement. “Throughout my career, I’ve tried to approach every opportunity with more grit, more grace, and a commitment to doing more good, and I’m excited to bring that mindset to Angel City and the Los Angeles community.”
Angel City FC will be Sentnor’s third NWSL club after beginning her professional career with the Utah Royals in 2024. After an impressive rookie campaign for an otherwise poor season and a part of 2025 Sentnor was traded to the Kansas City Current for a $600,000 intraleague transfer fee. She spent another season there before now being sent to Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old midfielder’s future is very interesting as she has been highly rated by the USWNT, and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2026 season. Angel City will likely try to work out an extension, but Sentnor should have a large contract value attached to her both domestically and abroad.
“This is an important moment for our team, and we are very excited to welcome Ally to Los Angeles. Ally is one of the world’s top young talents, has senior USWNT experience, and has built up important minutes in the NWSL,” said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons in a statement. “Ally is a dynamic and creative attacker who has the ability to create and score goals in different ways. She has a fantastic mindset to compete and grow each day, while bringing important teammate qualities to our culture.”
The Southern California club is currently in 12th place and will return from the midseason break on Friday, July 3, against the Orlando Pride.
