Week 2 of the AEW Continental Classic is in the books. Jon Moxley lost again, and there was another upset giving the Death Riders a second loss on Collision (Dec. 6, 2025). Let’s look at the updated league standings.
Blue League
Claudio Castagnoli (2-1-0): 6 points
Konosuke Takeshita (2-0-0): 6
Jon Moxley (1-2-0): 3
Orange Cassidy (1-1-0): 3
Mascara Dorada (1-1-0): 3
Roderick Strong (0-2-0): 0
Jon Moxley lost to Claudio Castagnoli on Dynamite. The road only got tougher for the Death Riders’ leader,
and Moxley went down in defeat to Takeshita on Collision. It was a war of attrition as both men battled through ankle pain. Moxley’s leg gave out in a pivotal moment, and Takeshita poured on the offense to win via Raging Fire driver.
You would think Claudio would be peaking after the strong win over Moxley. Think again. Claudio’s Achilles heel is speedy luchadores. Mascara Dorada pulled the upset to defeat Claudio. The masked man created an opening to pin Claudio off a shooting star press.
The third Blue match of the evening was between Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong. The Messiah of the Backbreaker hit over ten backbreakers during the contest. He went to that well once too often. Cassidy anticipated the move to counter for a roll-up to win.
The Gold League didn’t have any matches on Collision, but there was one piece of major news. Darby Allin is out. Jack Perry is in. AEW officials did not medically clear Allin to compete.
Gold League
Kyle Fletcher (2-0-0): 6 points
Kevin Knight (1-1-0): 3
Kazuchika Okada (1-1-0): 3
PAC (1-1-0): 3
Speedball Mike Bailey (0-1-0): 0
Jack Perry (0-1-0): 0
Based on how Moxley acted when holding the AEW World Championship, one would think that he would be livid about these losses. On the contrary. Mox is taking a much more measured approach demonstrating his composure for a marathon, not a sprint. Immediately after Moxley lost to Claudio, the Death Riders did push-ups backstage. They shared team camaraderie over the idea that if one wins then they all win. In other promos from the Dynamite matches, Kevin Knight is a threat to win any match, Kyle Fletcher won’t let anything get in the way of his destiny, Kazuchika Okada picked up his first three points as the best tournament wrestler of all-time, and PAC beat himself with a single moment of complacency.
Moxley and Claudio took theirs losses on Collision in stride with a circuit of sprints backstage. There’s a lot of tournament left to gain back ground. They have sight of the bigger picture. In other promos, Takeshita’s confidence is high after finally beating Mox, Cassidy is taking it 3 points at a time, Strong is having doubts on this journey of self-discovery, and Mascara Dorada showed the quality of talent from CMLL.
