
It was an unfortunate evening for the Atlanta Braves, who dropped Thursday’s series opener to the Philadelphia Phillies 19-4. Though the Braves started out hopeful and scored three runs in the top of the first, Cal Quantrill came out and put together a pitiful outing. Quantrill’s final line consisted of 3.1 innings, nine runs, and four home runs. He did not record a single strikeout.
It was basically the Kyle Schwarber show, considering he homered four times, but hopefully the Braves can even things
up tonight at 6:45 ET.

New York Yankees right-hander Jonathan Loáisiga is done for the season due to a flexor strain. Fortunately, he is unlikely to require surgery.
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager will undergo an appendectomy. There is no timetable for his return.
New York Mets right-hander Frankie Montas will require UCL surgery. If he undergoes Tommy John, he would miss the entire 2026 season. The club also announced that catcher Francisco Alvarez has a fractured pinkie but hopes to return this season.
