There was no shortage of moves for the Atlanta Braves on Thursday since the player/club option deadline arrived. In addition to those announcements, the club also announced that outfielder Michael Siani
was claimed off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. Lastly, fellow outfielder Jake Fraley was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays.
26-year-old Siani appeared in 19 games with the Cards last season. He started five of those games in centerfield with a perfect fielding percentage through 59.1 total innings. Offensively, he recorded just four hits in 17 chances. If he stays on the 40-man roster, he could definitely add some outfield depth or even pinch run.
As for Fraley, his brief stint in Atlanta comes to an end. He appeared in just nine games before suffering an oblique injury.
