A familiar Buffalo Bills receiver will be ready for action once again rather soon, as head coach Joe Brady announced the team has opened the practice window for Tyrell Shavers this week.
Shavers tore his ACL in the Bills’ wild-card win over the Jaguars last January. After his surgery to repair the torn ligament, he’s been rehabbing ever since. He has been on the Bills Physically
Unable to Perform List.
A former undrafted free agent from San Diego State, who began his collegiate career at Alabama, Shavers slowly but surely worked his way onto the field for the Bills over the past two seasons.
He scored on his first NFL touch, a 69-yard catch and run in Buffalo’s regular-season victory over the Jets. The 6’4”, 211-pound Shavers emerged into a reasonably important role in 2025, as he caught 15 passes for 245 yards with a score on 38.9% of the offensive snaps during the regular season.
We’ll see how quickly Shavers can go from practicing again to being back on the field. The Bills have now three weeks to make a determination on that.
On the practice-window activation front, Brady also announced second-year safety Jordan Hancock will not have his practice window activated this week, as he still recovers from a hamstring injury. He’ll remain on IR for at least another week.
