It’s a bit shocking to see a 25-year-old on a freshman recruiting visit, but here we are in 2026. Former NBA G-Leaguer and international journeyman Kyree Walker took an official visit to Maryland men’s
basketball Wednesday as he looks to embark on his NCAA basketball path.
The visit comes nearly nine years after his first college visit, which took place in 2017. Walker skipped college basketball to prepare for the 2021 NBA Draft before signing with the G-League’s Capital City Go-Go.
Walker averagd 8.7 points per game in 23 G-League appearances. He’s since spent time in Greek, Canadian and Mongolian leagues — most recently Mongolia.
