Samuel received $3.76 million guaranteed. He only received a $490,000 signing bonus. That’s a far cry from the $58 million in guarantees that had roughly $16 million in total bonuses in the previous contract extension Deebo signed in 2022.
Deebo Samuel’s incentives in 2026
Samuel will receive a $20,000 per game active bonus. That’s
filed under “Likely to be earned.” So that’s an extra $340,000 in Deebo’s pocket if he’s active for all 17 regular season games.
Samuel also has a Pro Bowl incentive. If he makes it, he’ll earn $100,000.
There’s a “scrimmage yard incentive” for Deebo as well. If he has 600 yards from scrimmage, he’ll earn $200,000. If he reaches 803 scrimmage yards, Deebo would earn $450,000.
There’s an important qualifier here, as these values double if the 49ers make the playoffs. That goes for the other incentives we’ll touch on, too.
There’s a total touchdown incentive for Samuel. If he scores five times, he earns $200,000. If he scores seven touchdowns, Samuel will earn $450,000.
We just talked about whether Deebo would return kicks. If he finishes in the top 10, on average, he’ll earn $250,000.
Finally, there’s a playing time incentive. Samuel needs to play 68% of the offensive snaps this upcoming season to earn $250,000. Again, all of these values double if the 49ers make the playoffs.
Deebo’s cap number in 2026 will be $4.73 million.
