Bayern Munich must lick its wounds and turn the page quickly after absorbing a Bavarian derby defeat to FC Augsburg on Wednesday. The German record champions are not used to losing — it’s the first league
defeat of the season — and are not happy about it.
“Losing never feels good,” center-back Jonathan Tah stated after the match (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We’re disappointed, but the most important thing is how we react, how we quickly put it behind us, focus on the next game, and respond on the pitch.
“In the second half, we didn’t manage to match the energy level our opponents brought to the game. We lost, and we have to accept that. We want to channel the anger we’re feeling now into the next game and show our quality and energy again.”
Bayern faces PSV Eindhoven in the final league phase match of this year’s Champions League on Wednesday. Then it’s Hamburger SV back in the Bundesliga next weekend, both games on the road. Looking forward to that response.
