The UFC’s first event of the Paramount+ era has lost one of its marquis fights.
On Wednesday, MMA Fighting confirmed multiple reports that Kayla Harrison is out of her scheduled women’s bantamweight title fight against the returning Amanda Nunes at UFC 324, which is set for Jan. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Harrison suffered an injury that led to a surgical procedure to fix herniated discs in her neck.
Following the breaking new, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck and Jed Meshew react to the fight being
off and how much of a hit the card takes, if the UFC should try to keep Nunes on the card against a different opponent, Norma Dumont raising her hand to step in on 10 days’ notice, the likelihood the UFC just waits for Harrison to recover before Nunes competes, Dana White announcing Israel Adesanya vs. Joe Pyfer, and more.
Watch the reaction above, or an audio-only version of the show can also be streamed below and on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever else you get your pods.
