The preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys is just a couple of days away for the Seattle Seahawks, but the big news between now and kickoff for the defending Super Bowl champions is likely to be about a player who won’t even suit up for the game.
Specifically, after offseason legal issues led the Detroit Lions to waiving the 2024 first round pick, cornerback Terrion Arnold is set to sign with the Seahawks according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Exactly when fans might see Arnold in a Seahawks uniform, if ever, remains to be seen, though, as it is possible that the league office could place Arnold on the Commissioner’s Exempt List.
There is, obviously, no timetable on when Arnold’s legal situation will be resolved, but according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Arnold’s next court date is scheduled for Monday, October 5, so resolution ahead of then seems unlikely.
