The Michigan Wolverines are back on a winning streak after beating Michigan State in East Lansing. It’s their second time this season with back-to-back wins, and they are favored heavily against Purdue
this weekend.
Here’s what you need to know about how to watch Saturday night’s contest.
No. 21 Michigan Wolverines vs Purdue Boilermakers
- Day: Saturday, Nov. 1 2025
- TV: Big Ten Network
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Location: Ann Arbor, MI
- Weather: 45 degrees, cloudy
- Odds: MICH -20.5, O/U: 49.5
This game has a nearly three-touchdown spread. For a team with two losses in Big Ten play, that should be surprising for a game against a conference opponent in early November. But not for this Purdue team. There’s no way around it, the Boilermakers stink. Their only two wins came against Ball State and Southern Illinois. Since then, Purdue has lost six straight.
In losses to USC, Notre Dame and Illinois, Purdue’s defense allowed 44 points on average. That included giving up more than 500 yards those games, too. Two of those games, against USC and Illinois, were at home.
As shocking as it is, Michigan should be favored by as much as it is. I see this game going very similarly to what the Wolverines did last week against Michigan State. Purdue’s defense hasn’t been able to slow anyone down; even Rutgers had 543 yards against them last week.
It’s very likely fans leave this game feeling the same way they did after beating the Spartans. Michigan will run the ball nearly 50 times, likely have 300+ rushing yards, and win by at least two possessions. Bryce Underwood will get the win, but not have the eye-popping statistical performance that many fans are hoping for after an abysmal passing performance a week ago.
At the end of the day, Michigan will win this ] game. The defense will probably force several turnovers, as Purdue currently ranks second-last in the country with a -11 turnover margin. The Wolverines will also dominate time of possession in a game that will never feel close, but may not have the final result look as lopsided as the contest.
Michigan State had a backdoor cover last week, but something tells me the Wolverines explode in this game by forcing a couple turnovers and quickly turning them into points. I see this one getting ugly fast, and Michigan will cover this spread.
