The Tigers had two very bad series against the Guardians in the month of September, but they decided to make a change for the last day of the month. While it wasn’t a blowout game in the scorebox, it was a master
class in watching two incredible pitchers do their thing (and my goodness, Tarik Skubal was dialled in. After the seventh inning, I thought he might wrestle AJ Hinch to the ground if he tried to pull him)
The game was a heck of a lot of fun to watch, but oh boy was it an emotional rollercoaster. Today, we’ll see Casey Mize (who has been great lately) take the mound, and we can hope to see this series end at game two. Let’s all cross our fingers and look at some highlights from yesterday, as well as some news from around baseball.
