Oregon’s Dante Moore has a particular set of skills.
Skills that make him a nightmare for opposing defenses.
Usually.
Also, raise your hand if you read those first two sentences in Liam Neeson’s voice.
But
back to Football, Oregon’s quarterback has a golden arm. The trick is using it.
Will Stein, Oregon’s Offensive Coordinator, was under heavy fire for his playcalling in the Ducks’ loss to Indiana.
Then, he was temporarily pardoned due to his explosive playcalling against Rutgers.
Now, here he is under scrutiny again after a less-than-stellar passing assault against Wisconsin.
Granted, Moore was popped hard and held out of the rest of the game as a precaution, but while he was in, Oregon wasn’t exactly torching the Badgers through the sky.
Wisconsin played very physical defense, as did Indiana.
The Ducks’ next opponent, Iowa, will do the same. Better be ready, Stein.
There’s not a lot of in-between when it comes to Iowa. They generally either make it a slow and frustrating game for their opponent, or they get blown out of the water.
Coming off of another bye week and prepping for a home stretch that will determine their playoff positioning, the Ducks need to come out on the attack offensively.
Defensively, just keep doing what they’ve been doing.
But offensively, Stein needs to take off the training wheels, throw them in the trash, and put a ten-speed gear shift on Oregon’s aerial assault.
Because this conservative stuff isn’t working.
Moore should be fine by the 8th and his crop of targets downfield already ranks among the most talented Oregon has ever trotted out onto the field.
If Stein lets him loose, he will look for them…he will find them…and he will throw to them!
