The Kentucky Wildcats are trying to get familiar with the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2027.
CJ Rosser, a 6-9 power forward from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, will make his first unofficial visit to Lexington on Wednesday, February 4th, per On3’s Joe Tipton. The 5-star forward is ranked No. 1 overall by 247 Sports Composite, which factors in all of the major recruiting rankings.
Rosser plays at Southeastern Prep in Florida. The big man has a smooth game, and it is clear when you watch him that his
play will transfer long-term.
This summer, Rosser had a solid few months on the EYBL Circuit. The North Carolina native averaged 19 points per game and shot 48.6% from two. Rosser isn’t much of a shooter from deep, but he has time to develop his shot before he comes to college. He made about 1.2 3s per game on the circuit.
Even at a fairly young age, Rosser already knows what he’s looking for when he visits colleges.
“Really, I’m looking for things off the court. Just the coaching staff and players.” Rosser told Rivals. “Just the connection everyone has needs to be good off the court, not just on. Everyone has to be one team and connected like family.”
The Wildcats still haven’t signed a recruit from the 2026 & 2027 classes. As the year goes on, Mark Pope will look to get a couple of incoming freshmen for next season.
