Starting with stars from AEW, NJPW, and MLW set to return. First is Claudio Castagnoli. His dual contract with AEW and CMLL comes into play for a match against legendary Blue Panther in Arena Mexico on Friday, July 10.
CMLL hosts the men’s International Grand Prix from Arena Mexico on August 7. Julio Cesar Rivera revealed a handful of wrestlers for the annual torneo cibernetico. Mexico will be represented by Volador Jr., Titan, and Xelhua. The World will be represented by El Bastardo PAC (UK) from AEW, Douki (Japan) from NJPW, and MLW national openweight champion Austin Aries (USA). More wrestlers will be named in coming weeks to fill out the teams.
A new champion was crowned on Friday night (July 3, 2026) when Volador Jr. defeated Flip Gordon to win the World Historic Middleweight Championship. A Mexican Destroyer sealed the deal. Gordon showed respect to strap the belt around the new champ’s waist. Gordon’s reign ends at 595 days.
Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja, & Hechicero defeated Mistico, Mascara Dorada, & Atlantis in trios action. On the third fall, Los Hermanos Chavez pinned the Sky Team. Angel and Niebla want a shot at the ROH tag titles, which was newly won by Mistico and Mascara Dorada. Mistico agreed with a counteroffer. If Sky Team wins, then they get a crack at the CMLL titles.
Tessa Blanchard & Garra Negra defeated Persephone & Keyra in tag team action. Blanchard pinned Perse on a double underhook powerbomb to win the third fall. Blanchard called out Persephone for a shot at the CMLL Women’s World Championship.
Blanchard also recently won the Copa Dinastías for the heiresses by defeating Lluvia.
Euforia took home La Copa Dinastías: Padres by beating El Valiente.
On the tag team side for brothers, Villano III Jr. & Hijo del Villano III triumphed over Hijo del Pantera & Pantera Jr. to win the Copa Dinastías.
