Pafos FC coach Juan Carlos Carcedo admits that his team’s match-up against Bayern Munich is “a dream come true.”
“Playing this big game is a dream come true for us. We will try to represent the team, the country and Cypriot football in the best way. Bayern is the most in-form team in Europe at the moment. We know how difficult it will be. It will be a tough challenge. But we’ll try to enjoy it and play our best football,” Carcedo said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
As for how to best stop Bayern Munich’s
blistering attack, Carcedo has a background in dealing with Harry Kane.
“I know his playing style very well because, when I was assistant coach at Arsenal, we often faced Tottenham. Back then, I even took a close look at him when analyzing individual players: He has an incredible range of skills. I think many people only realized how good he really is very late. But I’ve long considered him a superlative player. One man isn’t enough to stop him. We want to try to be a well-organized team and prevent him from scoring against us. David Luiz could be a key help if he gets fit in time. Not only is he our only player with a lot of Champions League experience, he also knows Kane from our time together at Arsenal,“ said Carcedo (as captured by Bild’s Nicolas Linner via @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich is off to Cyprus for a Champions League tilt against Pafos FC.
The Bavarians are big favorites and looking to stay red-hot behind the scorching play from Harry Kane. This Bayern Munich squad has a certain look to it. The team’s focus and relentlessness is unquestioned and Vincent Kompany seems to have a magic touch on all of his moves at the moment.
