Barcelona have confirmed that Alejandro Balde has been ruled out with a hamstring problem, and the early indications are that he will miss around three weeks.
According to Helena Condis at Cope, Balde won’t be back until the last week of September, meaning he will miss games against Valencia, Getafe and Real Oviedo in La Liga and the Champions League trip to Newcastle.
The news is a blow to Hansi Flick as Balde has started all three of Barcelona’s La Liga matches so far this season, and the German
coach must now find an alternative.
Gerard Martin and Jofre Torrents will be the top candidates to come into the team and take over from Balde in the coming weeks.
Barcelona may also be concerned that Balde has suffered yet another hamstring injury after being forced out of crucial games at the end of last season with a similar problem.
Let’s hope Balde can recover quickly and fully and that he can see him back in action sooner rather than later.
