A wild week for Trey Miguel wrapped up last night (Jan. 23) when he returned to TNA after being signed and released by AEW the week before.
To quickly recap for those who haven’t been keeping up with the story: The members of the group The Rascalz who were under contract to TNA had their deals expire recently, making the entire foursome (Miguel, Zachary Wentz, Dezmon Xavier, and Myron Reed) free agents. They all signed with AEW, but only Reed, Xavier, and Wentz appeared when they debuted on Collision.
It was soon confirmed that Miguel was released from the AEW deal he just signed. Miguel then issued an apology for unspecified past “mistakes”, around the same time reports from 5+ years ago recirculated about some offensive old tweets of his and a rumor claimed the decision to fire him came from above Tony Khan. Then, last night.
Now, Miguel has issued another statement. He confirms that he’d been planning to at least take a break after being let go by AEW, but support from TNA and others got him through — and convinced him to keep going:
