Michael Olise picked up the Man of the Match award with 88% of the vote after Bayern Munich dismantled Union Berlin 7-0. The Man of the Match winner normally gives an interview, but Olise didn’t want to. Instead, Jamal Musiala stepped in. “I’m here for that,” Musiala said with a laugh (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Olise never really made it a point to be flashy in the media, instead keeping a low profile, maintaining a nonchalant expression (until he meets incorrigible referees), and wants his actions
on the pitch do the talking. It paid off, as he scored his first-ever Bayern hat-trick.
In a period where FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal would rather make brash comments in the media instead of actually backing the talk, Olise was way ahead of the curve by avoiding the negative PR, and simply balling out for the Bavarians. Because that’s what Ballon d’Or winners do.
