According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich has finally reach its limit and will not bend to meet the contractual demands of Austrian star Konrad Laimer.
After what some consider to be losses in contract duels with Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Dayot Upamecano, the Bavarians might be done with ceding to player demands:
Bayern have no intention of meeting Konrad Laimer’s demands (around €15m gross per year). The club’s stance is clear: If Laimer doesn’t
make concessions, there will be no contract extension. Laimer is valued as a player for his performances, his commitment, and his versatility, but that kind of salary is deemed too high.
This could present an issue at Bayern Munich as Laimer brings such infectious energy, attitude, and great player that his value might exceed anything you can find on a scoresheet. This is life in football, though, and as a wise man once said, “Every man has his price” — and in this case, Bayern Munich might already seen that exceed by what Laimer wants.
