Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are moving closer to a potential deal for Anthony Gordon, but negotiations remain ongoing over the transfer fee.
According to Ben Jacobs, the player side of the deal is largely settled.
“Broad terms now in place between Anthony Gordon and Bayern Munich,” Jacobs said.
However, the main obstacle remains the valuation gap between the two clubs.
“However, there remains a gulf in valuation between Bayern and Newcastle with club-to-club talks ongoing,” Jacobs said.
Newcastle are holding firm on their asking price.
“Newcastle are seeking £75m+,” Jacobs said.
Despite that difference, there is confidence a deal can still be completed.
“There is optimism the club’s valuation will be met given the volume of initial interest,” Jacobs said.
The situation suggests that Gordon’s potential move now hinges almost entirely on negotiations between the clubs rather than personal terms.
With interest from multiple sides and Newcastle open to selling at the right price, the coming weeks are expected to determine whether a compromise can be reached.
