Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati came off the bench and bagged a brace for Monaco on Sunday in Ligue 1 in a 4-2 win over Metz.
Fati has had to be patient since joining the Ligue 1 club but did score on his debut in midweek in the Champions League clash with Club Brugge.
The forward has now followed that up with two more goals for his new side. Fati’s first came just 36 seconds after he had been sent on by Adi Hutter and put Monaco 2-1 up.
The Barcelona youngster latched onto a low ball into the penalty area and provided a neat touch to slot home from close range.
Metz equalised from the penalty spot but went behind again in the 83rd minute when Fati scored again to put his side 3-2 up.
Krépin Diatta sent in a cross from the right and found Fati in the penalty box and able to steer a header home.
An own goal and a stoppage-time effort from George Ilenikhena saw Monaco extend their lead and seal a 5-2 victory that maintains their unbeaten start to the Ligue 1 season.
Fati’s two goals mean he now has three in his first two outings for his new club, and he certainly seems to be settling in well after a slow start.
