Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Seattle, Washington later TONIGHT (Sat., March 28, 2026) to stage UFC Seattle from inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The event — which streams live on Paramount+ — will be headlined by a Middleweight fight that will see former division king, Israel Adesanya, face rising contender Joe Pyfer. In the co-main event of the evening Alexa Grasso and Maycee Barber throw down for a second time in a pivotal women’s Flyweight bout.

Israel Adesanya was once considered to be the next man to lead UFC into the future. He was being looked upon with the same potential that Georges St. Pierre, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones showed — and delivered — in helping the promotion remain the No. 1 MMA company in the world. But times have changed — in more ways than one — as the landscape of superstars withing the promotion looks drastically different than it dude just a few short years ago. What also changed was the dominance that Adesanya once showed by starting off his UFC career at 12-1 with five successful title defenses of the 185-pound belt. But since getting knocked out by Alex Pereira in 2022, Adesanya’s downfall has been brutal. Sure, he got his revenge in the immediate rematch against “Poatan” by delivering a knockout of his won, though he was one more big punch away from a second straight defeat to the Brazilian before he turned the tides in the blink of an eye. Since that win, however, “The Last Stylebender” has lost three straight fights. While still ranked No. 4 in the division, Adesanya is nowhere near another title shot, but a win is of the utmost importance against a hungry up-and-comer looking to crack the Top 10.
Joe Pyfer was not exactly the name most were expecting when thinking of Adesanya’s next foe, but here we are. No knock on Pyfer, but the No. 14 ranked contender at 185 pounds isn’t exactly the man that pops out to headline an event opposite a former champ like Adesanya. Still, “Bodybagz” has a huge opportunity at his feet to upset the order in the division while picking up the biggest win of his combat career. Pyfer is coming off a win over Abusupiyan Magomedov at UFC 320, his second straight victory, putting him at 6-1 inside the Octagon. Pyfer is an aggressive fighter that can push the pace and ultimately test Adesanya, but striking with “The Last Stylebender” isn’t the best thing to do, even though he is on a slump. Still, Pyfer isn’t afraid of a test, and that is just what he will be for the former world champion. A win for Pyfer will be a huge bump for his career, while a loss will be devastating to say the least for Adesanya.
Original Card Vs. Actual Card/Injuries
A Heavyweight bout between Marcin Tybura and Valter Walker was scrapped after Walker withdrew due to a fractured foot and was replaced by UFC rookie, Tyrell Fortune. Also, Michael Chiesa was set to face Carlston Harris before he was then booked against Niko Price after Harris bowed out due to visa issues.
New Blood:
Former Bellator and Professional Fighters League (PFL) veteran, Tyrell Fortune, will finally get his chance to shine on the biggest MMA stage of them all as he gets to make his debut against Marcin Tybura. Fortune is currently on a three-fight win streak on the regional circuit and has an overall record of 17-3 with 11 knockouts and one submission win on his resume. That said, he has a chance to make an impressive impact right away against The No. 8 ranked fighter in a division that can use all of the talent it can get. Speaking of which, Tybura — interestingly enough — is coming off a knockout loss to another former PFL start in Ante Delija.
Lerryan Douglas will make his UFC debut after impressing on the Contender Series with a lightning quick knockout win over Cam Teague late last year. That win pushed his streak up to five in a row — all knockouts — and now he is out to keep his momentum going against Julian Erosa. “Juicy J” saw his three-fight win streak go up in smoke after losing to Melquizael Costa almost a year ago.
How The ‘Prelims’ Look:
Tofiq Musayev put up a dud in his UFC debut after losing to Myktybek Orolbai via first-round submission last summer. Now, the former Bellator veteran is on the hunt for his first win inside the Octagon when he goes toe-to-toe against Ignacio Bahamondes. “La Jaula” is hungry to taste victory again after Rafael Fiziev snapped his three-fight win streak last summer on the same card Musayaev lost.
Chase Hooper saw his five-fight win streak go up in smoke after running into Alexander Hernandez, who defeated him via first-round knockout with two seconds left in round one in Aug. 2025 (video replay here). Now, “The Dream” is determined to start another run when he faces off against relative newcomer, Lance Gibson Jr., who failed to impress in his UFC debut, losing to King Green via split-decision three months ago.
Casey O’ Neill has been out of action for nearly 1.5 years recovering from injuries. and now “King” is back to remind everyone what she is all about. O’ Neill’s last appearance inside the eight-sided cage produced a win over Luana Santos, which snapped her two-fight skid. She will take on Gabriella Fernandes, who is riding high with three straight wins.
Navajo Stirling has gotten off to a fine start to his MMA career, racking up weight straight wins, which includes going 3-0 inside the Octagon. Training with Adesanya has certainly helped Stirling up his skills, which will be tested against Bruno Lopes, who was last seen getting knocked out by Dustin Jacoby in the first round (see it again here).
In men’s Bantamweight action, Ricky Simon — who is coming off a loss to Raoni Barclos — will attempt to get back on the winning track when he battles Adrian Yanez, who is also looking for a win after losing to Daniel Marcos via split-decision in his last outing.
Bruna Brasil and Alexia Thainara will kick off the event in a women’s Strawweight fight between two women on two different career paths. Brasil has alternated wins and losses since making her UFC debut in April 2023 to the tune of a 3-4 record. As for Thainara, she is on an 11-fight win streak which includes going 2-0 under the UFC banner.
Who Needs A Win Badly:
Adesanya will not get cut if he loses his fourth in a row, but his stock will tumble even further — perhaps a bit too far — should he lose to Pyfer. A title shot will be out of the question for a few years, and another setback will likely prompt “The Last Stylebender” to change divisions and take a stab at Light Heavyweight for an extended time. Either way, Adesanya needs a win in a bad way here.
Interest Level: 6.5/10
The last time Maycee Barber tasted defeat it was Alexa Grasso who was standing opposite her raising her hand in victory. Indeed, the Mexican-born fighter defeated “The Future” via unanimous decision in 2021. From there, however, Barber has been a woman on a mission, winning her next seven fights which has helped her remain in the Top 5 position. Now, “The Future” is looking for revenge against the last person to defeat her. As for Grasso, she has been up and down since that big win over Barber, going 3-2-1, which includes losing her last two fights against Valentina Shevchenko and Natalia Silva. Still, she is ranked No. 3 and stopping Barber’s momentum once agaim gets her right back into the championship conversation.
Nearly 14 years after making his UFC debut, Michael Chiesa is ready to put a bow on his career. “Maverick” has been in there with the best of them throughout his run with the promotion, securing big wins over the likes of Beneil Dariush and Al Iaquinta to go along with high-profile defeats to Anthony Pettis, Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Lee, among others. Chiesa is currently on a three-fight win streak and hopes to ride off into the sunset with a win when he goes head-up against late replacement, Niko Price, who has lost three straight and five of his last six overall.
Mansur Abdul-Malik and Yousri Belgaroui are two streaking Middleweights in search of a big win to get them over the edge. Abdul-Malik is currently 9-0-1, 3-0-1 UFC with all of his wins coming by way of stoppage, seven in the very first round. As for Belgaroui, he is 9-3 and currently riding a four-fight win streak, which includes a successful UFC debut win over Azamat Bekoev.
Kicking off the main card is a Lightweight scrap that will see Terrance McKinney face Kyle Nelson. McKinney has yet to be able to win more than two straights fights under the UFC banner since making his promotional debut five years ago. “T.Wrecks” is coming off a loss to Chris Duncan, while Nelson is 4-1 in his last UFC fights with his most recent victory coming against Matt Frevola.
