The race for Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano is heating up, with Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and LaLiga giants Real Madrid headlining a list of suitors that also includes Manchester United.
From Sport Bild, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
PSG, Manchester United and especially Real Madrid are interested in signing Dayot Upamecano on a free transfer next summer. Bayern would have to meet the Frenchman’s wage demands if they don’t want to lose him [@cfbayern]
BFW Analysis
It has been a tough spring
and summer with a lot on the plate of Max Eberl and the rest of the Bayern Munich front office…but they have really let the Dayot Upamecano situation linger for too long. The French defender holds a lot of cards here as the center-back holdover from last year they did not spend the summer trying to get rid of, and his strong performances for club and country — as well as Jonathan Tah’s early shakiness — is going to earn him a big contract.
Where that is? Sounds like that is up to Bayern.
Bayern Munich hosted Chelsea in one of the most intriguing matchups on the second round of Matchday 1 in the Champions League’s League Phase.
The Bavarians were able to tough out a rugged 3-1 victory in a match that was not all that pleasing to the eye. Harry Kane’s brace and an own goal from Chelsea paced Bayern Munich. While Chelsea did some good things (including a terrific first half counterattack for a goal), the Londoners did not have enough gas in the tank to keep up with the German powerhouse.
Let’s get into the details, this is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
