Sean McVay gave a press conference on Friday stating that Terrance Ferguson was looking likely to play in Week 9 for the Los Angeles Rams against the Washington Commanders. McVay stated he expected both Myles Garrett and Terrance Ferguson to suit up on Sunday.
“Do expect Myes (Garrett) and Terrance (Ferguson) to play barring any sorta setbacks”
There must have been a setback in practice because later on in the day, the Rams announced that Ferguson will be out against the Commanders as the second-year
tight end is reportedly dealing with a new hamstring injury.
Ferguson was looking like a potential breakout candidate for the Rams in Week 2 against the New York Giants when he grabbed six balls for 54 yards and one score. In Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, Ferguson injured his ankle and couldn’t stay in the game. Finally, in Week 9, it was looking like Ferguson would be back just in time to go along with Garrett, and while Davante Adams is still on IR.
Ferguson may have had a great chance to reestablish himself as an offensive weapon, but instead, Ferguson is hurt again, with no clear timeline on when he’ll return.
On his career, Ferguson has 18 receptions for 290+ yards and four touchdowns. The talent is there, but the health has not been for the young player in 2026. He may get another chance to suit up in Week 10, barring any setbacks.
