Kennedy’s military background speaks for itself, but stolen valor was called on the former UFC fighter
last year when it was discovered that he had been lying about a specific military award.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Kennedy had been shot last month during an ambush in the Congo. On Friday, a report from Reuters and theNew Zealand Herald revealed additional details about the attack.
Kennedy was reportedly part of an operations team for Vectus Global, which is spearheaded by Blackwater founder Erik Prince. The hired forces were “working on an operation to protect mining revenues, combat smuggling and collect taxes for the Congolese government.”
Details surrounding the actual ambush and what transpired are unknown at this time, but enemy forces reportedly shot Kennedy three times in the leg and killed former New Zealand special operations soldier, Justin Conaglen, among other casualties. Kennedy is reportedly in stable condition.
