Ronald Araujo completed his loan move to Liverpool on Monday and took the time to send a message to Barcelona fans.
The Uruguayan spent eight years at the club and took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the club and the fans. Araujo’s caption reads “It’s time to face a new challenge. After 8 years, I take with me so many beautiful memories, lessons learned, and above all, so many people who were part of this journey. Always grateful, Culers!”
Several Barça players such as Ferran Torres, Frenkie
de Jong, Eric Garcia, Marc Bernal, Gerard Martín and Xavi Espart have already reacted to the post, showing Araujo was a pretty well liked character in the dressing room.
I don’t know if I’m reading too much into Araujo’s message, but it certainly feels a lot like a farewell from someone who is hoping to stay at Liverpool after his loan deal ends if the Reds activate the buy option.
