The Dallas Cowboys suffered a particularly embarrassing loss on Sunday.
At one point in time the home team led 17-3 against a moribund Arizona Cardinals team. Picking up Brian Schottenheimer’s second winning streak with the team, in his 25th career game as head coach no less, seemed inevitable.
The Cowboys always find a way.
Dallas collapsed and did so in truly Dallas Cowboys™ fashion. They lost the game, are now 3-5, and naturally one question is at the top of everyone’s mind: Are they going to fire
Brian Schottenheimer?
Jerry Jones said following the game that staff changes are not in his mind at this time. Firing head coaches is not something that the Cowboys have become known for, the last time they did it was in 2010 with Wade Phillips, but they are seriously underperforming and in danger of the season becoming rather meaningless for them.
The Cowboys have already rearranged the deck chairs, so to speak, once this season by bringing in Mike Pettine to help Christian Parker on the defensive side of the ball. Who could help Schottenheimer? Why does a head coach even need help?
These are all questions that everyone is going to be hearing and facing for some time.
