Barcelona star Raphinha looks to have become the latest player to fall foul of Hansi Flick’s rules after being benched for Sunday’s La Liga clash with Valencia.
The Brazilian had been set to start but has been left out of the starting XI after arriving late for the activation session, according to RAC1.
Flick was instead gone for a frontline of Ferran Torres, Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji for the game at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
It’s been a tough week for Raphinha. He was pretty annoyed at having
to play at altitude for Brazil over the international break and has now lost his place in the team.
Flick is also without Lamine Yamal for this match, due to injury, and it will be interesting to see how the new-look frontline gets on against Valencia.
Raphinha is not the first player to be benched for turning up late under Flick. Inaki Pena, Hector Fort and Jules Kound have all previously been sanctioned by the German coach.
