The Jeremiyah Love discourse continues to dominate the conversation around the Tennessee Titans and their upcoming No. 4 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. The debate has raged all over social media. Is running back still considered a devalued position, and can you draft one at No. 4?
Can a rebuilding roster like the Titans afford to take Love with the fourth selection? How much does a high-impact running back with dual-threat receiving ability help a young quarterback like Cam Ward? Those are
some of the questions being posed.
It’s going to be fascinating to learn what Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi believes. All indications are Borgonzi will deliver his answer on the Love discourse. When the Titans come on the clock at No. 4 overall, the overwhelming expectation is that Love will be available.
The Las Vegas Raiders will draft quarterback Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall. The current belief is that some combination of linebacker Arvell Reese and EDGE David Bailey will get drafted with the second and third picks. Assuming the NFL Draft plays out as expected, Love will be the best prospect available to the Titans at No. 4 overall.
Will Borgonzi be comfortable with drafting a running back with that pick?
Would the Titans consider Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate? How about linebacker Sonny Styles, safety Caleb Downs, or EDGE Rueben Bain Jr.? Tate might feel like a reach at No. 4, and Styles/Downs play devalued positions, just like Love supposedly does.
Mina Kimes brings up a good point. Saquon Barkley is the highest-paid running back in the NFL at $20.6 million annually. That would make him approximately the 21st-highest paid wide receiver. The league certainly pays wide receivers on a different scale.
Everyone has an opinion regarding the Love discourse. Borgonzi will pick a side on April 23rd.
