The Third Saturday in October will be played under the lights in Tuscaloosa. The SEC revealed kickoff times a television designations for all games on October 18th, placing Tennessee-Alabama in the night time ABC slot. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Ole Miss at Georgia lands in the 3:30 p.m. ET slot on ABC, while LSU at Vanderbilt gets the morning network kickoff. College Gameday could make an appearance in either
Tuscaloosa or Athens. Considering they just went to Alabama for the Vanderbilt matchup, I’d guess they end up in Athens on that Saturday morning.
Tennessee has beaten Alabama in the last two tries in Knoxville, but they haven’t won in Tuscaloosa since 2003. There have been a handful of close calls during that span, but Alabama always seems to gets away from Tennessee at some point in the fourth quarter. This team feels different though, now armed with a legitimate offense behind the arm of Joey Aguilar. It’s a much different offense than we saw last time down there with Joe Milton.
Alabama got off to a rough start against Florida State, but they’ve turned a corner since. A huge win over Georgia pushed them right back into the national picture. Another solid win over a good Vanderbilt team have them back to No. 8 in the AP top 25. Ty Simpson, who we all know well, has emerged as a Heisman contender.
Alabama will have a tough road test this weekend at Missouri with a noon kick. Tennessee draws Arkansas at home in the afternoon slot.
Alabama holds a 60-40-7 advantage in the series.
