Barcelona boss Hansi Flick says that Joan Garcia picked up a knee injury during Wednesday’s 7-2 win over Racing in La Liga.
Garcia seemed to slip at the end of the first half and was replaced by Wojciech Szczęsny for the second half of the match at Camp Nou.
Flick was asked about his stopper afterwards and offered an update.
“Joan Garcia has had some knee issues. We’ll have to wait to know for sure,” he told DAZN after the game.
Szczesny was guilty of an error after coming on that led to Racing’s second
goal but Flick wasn’t too worried about his veteran goalkeeper.
“It’s normal to make mistakes. I’m not worried about Szczesny’s mistake. This is football,” he added.
“Yes, we can improve. You can always improve, in life, in any aspect. We’ve played well, regardless of the results. I like how we’re playing.
“It’s nice to watch. But the most important thing is to always stay focused on every situation in the game, on every pass.”
Flick will certainly be hoping that Garcia is not set for a spell on the sidelines and is fit to return on Saturday when Barca take on Sevilla.
