Everton announced earlier today that the transfer swap with Crystal Palace was complete, with Brennan Johnson joining the Blues and signing a new four-year contract, and Dwight McNeil finally moving to London having seen his deadline day transfer fall through in January.
The 25-year-old winger helped Nottingham Forest gain promotion to the Premier League, where he was a teammate of midfielder James Garner. He then moved to Tottenham Hotspur in a big money transfer leading them to their first title
in decades as they lifted the Europa League trophy. Johnson went to Crystal Palace in the January transfer window after losing favour with Thomas Frank, but quickly found himself in a difficult situation with Oliver Glasner indicating he would be leaving the Eagles.
The Nottingham-born player will wear the #22 shirt at Everton, which was recently vacated by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer as he switched to the #8 shirt.
