The Atlanta Braves announced several roster moves Thursday, beginning with reinstating outfielder Jurickson Profar from the paternity list. The club also recalled right-hander Daysbel Hernández, designated INF Luke Williams for assignment, and released the right-handed Cal Quantrill. Lastly, fellow righty Wander Suero was claimed off waivers by the New York Mets.
Profar missed the last two games of the recent series with the Chicago Cubs but will return just in time to host the Seattle Mariners. He’s been an asset to the lineup in the second half, hitting nine homers and manufacturing a .253 batting average.
Hernández rejoins the Braves once again after a stint in Triple-A Gwinnett. He’s logged 36.1 big league innings this season to accompany his 2.72 ERA.
As for Williams, Quantrill, and Suero, it’s goodbye for now.
