On the eve of training camp practices set to begin tomorrow morning, the Penguins officially announced their 2026 training camp roster.
From the team:
The Pittsburgh Penguins have invited 69 players to their 2026.27 training camp presented by UPMC, it was announced today by President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas.
The training camp roster, which can be seen here, includes 36 forwards, 23 defensemen, seven goaltenders and three injured players.
Training camp opens on Thursday, September
17 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. All practices at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex are free and open to the public.
The Penguins’ 2026.27 training camp roster includes 28 players who skated in at least one game with Pittsburgh last season. Sidney Crosby, who is entering his franchise-record 22nd season, and alternate captains Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are returning for their 21st season as a trio. As of this season, no athlete in Pittsburgh sports history has played more seasons for a team than the ‘Big Three’.
The Penguins added plenty of newcomers this season, including free-agent signings Andrei Kuzmenko, Declan Carlile and Trevor van Riemsdyk, as well as trade acquisitions Nick Robertson and Kaedan Korczak.
Goaltender Collin Delia will be attending training camp on a Professional Tryout Contract.
Coming off the Prospect Tournament last weekend, Pittsburgh’s top three picks in the 2026 NHL Draft, Liam Ruck (22nd overall), Marcus Ruck (39th overall) and Tomas Galvas (54th overall), will be attending their first training camp alongside fellow 2026 selection Matvei Nikonovich (160th overall).
The goalie Delia was brought on in part because rookie netminder Gabriel D’Aigle remains out with an injury. Forwards Melvin Fernstrom and Rafael Harvey-Pinard are also listed as injured.
The first moves were made before training camp even started with the announcement that seven junior-aged players have been sent back to their clubs for the season.
The early part of training camp will be held at the UPMC Lemieux practice rink in Cranberry. All practices there are free and open to the public. The schedule for the first few days is as follows, with group personnel still TBA.
