In its first game against a top 25 opponent this season, Louisville will be about a touchdown favorite.
According to FanDuel, the Cards opened the week as a 7-point favorite over No. 24 Virginia. That line
has since been bet up to U of L -7.5.
Both the Cards and Cavaliers are coming off of dramatic home victories a week ago.
For UVA, the win was a thrilling 46-38 overtime triumph over then-No. 8 Florida State, a win which vaulted the 4-1 Cavaliers into this week’s AP top 25 poll. For Louisville, the win was a 34-27 thriller over Pittsburgh that saw the Cardinals overcome a 17-0 first half deficit.
Saturday’s game has massive implications as far as the race for the ACC championship is concerned.
Virginia is 2-0 in conference play, despite the fact that their lone loss this season is a 35-31 defeat at NC State … a team which is also a member of the ACC. Despite that fact, the week two contest was scheduled as a non-conference game.
Louisville, meanwhile, is a perfect 4-0 in 2025, and 1-0 in ACC play.
In his time at U of L, Jeff Brohm is 3-3 in games against top 25 opponents.
