Bayern Munich’s starting goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic has extended her contract to 2029.
“I’m very happy to have extended my contract with FC Bayern. I feel very comfortable here and have already had two fantastic years in which I’ve been able to develop both athletically and personally. The move to Munich was a bold step at the time, but for me it was absolutely the right decision,” Mahmutovic told FCBayern.com. “The team and the environment made it very easy for me to settle in, and I now feel right at home.
We have big plans for the future: My main goal is to win an international trophy with Bayern and also to win even more titles together at the domestic level. I’m really looking forward to the coming years and to continuing to be part of this special club.”
The Duisburg native joined Bayern in 2024, and is now into her third season with the club. In her two years with the club so far, she has won two Bundesligas, DFB-Pokals, and DFB-Supercups.
She has also reached the semifinals of the Champions League once, and won the World Sevens tournament last year, in which she was also named Best Goalkeeper. This season, she swapped her previous No. 32 shirt for the coveted No. 1.
Internationally, Mahmutovic is currently a backup goalkeeper in the German national team, behind No. 1 Ann-Katrin Berger, and has a EURO semifinal appearance under her belt.
