Jonathan Tah believes Bayern Munich’s biggest strength from last season was not just their quality on the pitch, but the mentality that carried them through difficult moments.
Speaking to Sky Germany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the defender emphasized that the team must build on the foundation established during last season’s successful campaign.
“We want to pick up where we left off last season. We all felt it was a very special campaign, and that was because we worked hard on ourselves from day
one and gave everything in every single match. Even when things weren’t always perfect, smooth, or clicking, we always managed to stick together as a team and create an atmosphere that made us feel we could achieve anything. That’s exactly what we need to build on,” Tah said.
Tah’s comments reflect the culture that Bayern Munich developed under Vincent Kompany. While there were periods when performances were not at their best, the squad consistently found ways to overcome adversity through unity, resilience, and belief. That mentality ultimately proved just as important as the team’s tactical improvements.
Now entering a new season with fresh expectations, Tah sees continuity as the key to further success. Rather than reinventing what worked, Bayern Munich are aiming to maintain the standards, togetherness, and work ethic that defined last year.
If the squad can recreate that same environment while continuing to improve on the pitch, Bayern Munich will once again expect to compete for every major trophy available.
