Well, it had to happen sooner or later, but it was sooner, which wasn’t optimal. The Spurs lost their first game of the season on Sunday night, when they faced a red hot Suns team in Phoenix. When the opponent can’t miss and your team can’t hit the side of a barn, even when you’re inside the barn, it’s going to be a bad night, and the Spurs were out of it the entire night in the Arizona desert. It was a sad night for the Silver and Black faithful, but tonight is another opportunity to start a new winning streak.
The Spurs look to turn it around tonight, when they face the Lakers in Los Angeles. The Lakers are 6-2 so far this year, and with a win, they could jump into second place in the Western Conference, which is better than most people expected from a team that’s been missing its best player for the entire season so far. Austin Reaves has looked like a superstar early in the season, which is a big shock to me, because honestly, I never expected him to be much more than a talented role player, but he’s been proving me wrong with his stellar play so far this year. He’s still not a good defender, but he can sure score the ball. Let’s watch and see if Stephon Castle can shut him down tonight.
Game Prediction:
Stephon must dominate Reaves.
