The Germany Frauen will be going across the Atlantic Ocean for their last international break of the year.
The DFB announced that the women’s national team will be flying to South America in the November/December international break. This is presumably to get acclimated to the local scene, as next year’s World Cup will be held in Brazil.
Speaking of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro will play host to Germany’s second friendly of the break, which will be against Peru. Four days before then, Germany will play Argentina
on their home turf in La Plata. The Argentina game will be played on the last day of November.
Germany have only faced Argentina twice in their history, winning both games 6-1 and 11-0. However, since their last game was nearly 20 years ago in 2007, the results will most likely matter very little. Meanwhile, this will be their first ever meeting with Peru. The last time Germany played South American opponents was back at the 2023 World Cup, when they lost 1-2 to Colombia.
