As the wheels of the transfer portal continue to turn, another name has surfaced on the list of players Kentucky Basketball has reached out to.
UT Rio Grande Valley guard Koree Cotton has reportedly heard from Kentucky, along with a host of other schools, according to 365 Recruits.
The 6-6 combo guard from Miami is drawing interest from a lot of schools after finishing up his junior season at UT Rio Grande Valley.
This past season, he led the Vaqueros in scoring and rebounding at almost 14 points per
game to go along with 5.3 rebounds. He also averaged 2.5 assists per outing.
Cotton shot a career-best 47.4% from the floor and 40% from 3 on about four attempts per game, earning Southland Conference first-team all-conference and all-defensive team honors while helping lead UTRGV to its most conference wins in program history.
Cotton will be looking for his fourth school in four years, with previous stops at Jacksonville State and VMI before making his way to UT Rio Grande Valley.
As an interesting note, UT Rio Grande Valley’s head coach this past season was Kahil Fennell, who served as an assistant under Mark Pope for two years at BYU.
