After taking an unofficial visit to Kentucky over the weekend, Class of 2027 5-star power forward Dawson Battie has officially received an offer from the Wildcats.
Battie, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound prospect
out of Dallas, Texas, is ranked as the No. 12 overall recruit and the No. 3 power forward in the 2027 class, according to 247 Sports. Known for his athleticism, versatility, and ability to score both inside and out, Battie has quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after frontcourt players in the country.
Mark Pope continues to make a strong impression on top national recruits, and Battie’s visit to Lexington only strengthened the connection between both sides. Kentucky is known for its player development, national exposure, and track record of sending players to the NBA, all of which are major selling points in Battie’s recruitment.
At this stage, Battie holds a long list of offers from Houston, LSU, Maryland, Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas, and several other high-major programs. With two years left in high school, his recruitment remains wide open, but Kentucky’s offer now firmly places them in the mix for one of the premier players in the 2027 class.
Battie’s growth and national attention will continue to rise as other schools and potential blue bloods will begin to offer the five-star recruit in the near future.
