Bayern Munich will kick off this season’s Champions League campaign next week. The game against Chelsea FC starts the long and intense journey with the ultimate destination set in Budapest, Hungary. Meanwhile, preparations for the next season have begun already. Madrid’s iconic stadium, the Estadio Metropolitano has been selected by UEFA to host the prestigious Champions League final for 2026/27 season, which will take place on 5th June 2027.
Home to Atlético de Madrid, the stadium will be hosting
the UCL final for the second time in its relatively short history. The city of Madrid will be hosts to the apex European football tournament for a record sixth time, behind only the city of London. The Metropolitano, inaugurated in 2017, was previously selected to host the 2019 UCL finals that took place between Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds defeated the Spurs 2-0 to lift “Big Ears” after a 14-year wait and for the 6th time in Liverpool’s club history.
