The Tigers had a tremendous start to their week. In a “must-win” series against the Astros, they really demonstrated that they’ve turned a corner, and swept the strong AL West leader. The Tigers played both kinds of baseball we love best: blowout wins, and classic pitchers’ duels, as well as two shutouts, it was the kind of stuff we came to expect early in the season, then lost sight of after the All-Star break.
The Tigers are back to playing winning baseball, and this weekend they will face off against
the Royals. It will be another important series, as the Royals are currently behind the Tigers in the AL Central, so every win helps extend the Tigers’ lead.
Let’s get into today’s news bites.
