Conor McGregor is (temporarily) saying goodbye to the “online folks” who follow his social media.
Don’t bother calling him, as “the phone will not be answered.”
The former UFC two-division champion said he’s “out of here for a bit” amid rumors that “Notorious” is training for an Octagon return at the White House, which recently got a new date from President Trump.
“Hey folks online, I’m out of here for a bit, see you again soon!” McGregor wrote on X. “My love, unwavering! Thank you all!”
Reactions to
his announcement were mixed, with diehard fans celebrating his accomplishments in combat sports. Detractors, on the other hand, are convinced McGregor is headed to “rehab” and suggest he “take it seriously.”
“Notorious” has previously admitted to recreational drug use.
It’s been a rough couple of years for the embattled Irishman, who hasn’t competed since summer 2021. In addition to falling flat in Ireland’s presidential race, “Notorious” was found liable in a sexual assault civil suit and forced to pay damages.
When and where the 37 year-old McGregor (22-6) resurfaces online remains to be seen, with some fans predicting a Connie comeback as early as Saturday.
Stay tuned.
