NFL free agency starts today. The legal tampering period opens at noon Eastern. This allows players on the verge of hitting free agency to begin negotiating with teams. While deals cannot officially be signed until the new league year begins later in the week, we will see many of the biggest names in free agency verbally agree to contracts over the next couple of days.
The Jets start free agency among the league leaders in salary cap space, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will be super active
as free agency begins. A number of reports have suggested the team will wait for the big names to come off the board and then look for bargains. There still could be a couple of acquisitions in the early stages of the process.
Below we will keep track of the moves the Jets make on the first day of the legal tampering period.
