The leading New York Giants enter their Week 5 match-up as 3.5-point underdogs on the road against the Washington Commanders, per Fanduel.
The Giants come into the game with a 3-1 record and sole possession of first place in the NFC East, while the Commanders are carrying a 1-3 record as the last place team in the division. The Commanders are coming off of a 30-13 drubbing at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts in London. The Giants, meanwhile, are the Cardiac Kids. They’ve won the game on the last play
each of the last two weeks, with a pair of Red Zone interceptions against the Titans and Cardinals.
The good news for the Commanders is that they might be getting starting quarterback Jayden Daniels back for this game after he suffered a dislocated elbow back in Week 2. His return would be incredibly timely, as Marcus Mariota was knocked out of their loss against the Colts. It was initially believed that Daniels might need season-ending surgery, but decided to forego it to return this year.
The Giants, meanwhile, finally saw their defense click against a good Cardinals offense, limiting Arizona to just 4 of 12 on third down, and taking the ball away three times — including Deonte Banks’ walk-off Pick 6.
This will be the fourth time in five games that 3-1 Giants will come in as underdogs. Can the Giants prove the oddsmakers wrong and climb to 4-1 on the season?
