“The Chosen One” has returned.
Edgar Berlanga will look to blast his way back into the win column when he collides with Canadian super middleweight Steven Butler atop the 10-round Zuffa Boxing 9 event on Paramount+, recently made official for Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Infosys Theater in Madison Square Garden.
Berlanga (23-2, 18 KOs) is looking to rebound from his fifth round knockout loss to Hamzah Sheeraz roughly one year back, part of a dreadful 1-2 run that also included a decision loss to Canelo
Alvarez in late 2024. As for Butler (38-5-1, 32 KOs), he’s the winner of four straight, which includes his second-round finish over Ramadan Hiseni back in March.
Also made official for the Zuffa 9 event in the “Big Apple” is the welterweight showdown between Richardson Hitchins and Ricardo Salas, who get 12 rounds to settle their differences. In addition, Sergiy Derevyanchenko and Jalil Hackett are booked to battle for 10 rounds to open the Zuffa 9 main card. More matchups including preliminary bouts are expected in the coming days.
