The great and powerful Gable Steveson will be back inside of the MMA cage in less than two weeks.
Steveson is expected to make a quick turnaround at Anthony Pettis FC 21 on Nov. 23 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, per a recent announcement by “Showtime” himself (shown below). An opponent for Steveson has yet to be determined.
Steveson, who is one of the most decorated collegiate wrestlers to ever make the crossover into MMA, made a successful MMA debut this past September at LFA 217 and ended up steamrolling
his opponent in less than two minutes. His heavyweight counterpart was nothing to write home about, but it was still a good showing for Steveson.
This might seem like a quick turnaround considering Steveson has less than two weeks to prepare, but he should still have a significant edge over whichever schmo the promotion finds to be his opponent. The fight is also in a great location for Steveson. The former NCAA wrestling superstar has been doing some training alongside UFC legend, Jon Jones, who as we all know resides in Albuquerque. “Bones” will certainly be there to play coach and cheerleader.
Steveson, 25, has already caught the attention of MMA’s biggest figures, including Jones and UFC CEO Dana White. If Steveson is able to rack off a few more wins he should put himself in line for a shot on White’s Contender Series sometime in 2026. First, he’ll have to take care of business Nov. 23.
