It would be pretty damn McGroovy if the Cincinnati Reds could find a way to pick themselves up off the mat and fight their way back into the 2026 season. Because lately, they’ve looked like a floundering club that’s taken too many blows to make that possible.
Yeah, they’re without Elly De La Cruz and Hunter Greene. That’s only, like, ~13 WAR a season at those players’ peaks. They’re without their first choice bullpen, but who needs relievers anyway?
The last place Reds will turn to Rhett Lowder on
Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium, and they’ll do so with hopes he can channel his precision much better after resting his shoulder than he did in the final pair of starts before hitting the injured list. They’ll also do so looking to salvage at least one game from this division series against the St. Louis Cardinals and, if they win, emerge from the series still at an even .500 on the season.
First pitch will be chucked by Cards starter Michael McGreevy at 2:15 PM ET. Starting lineups for both clubs are listed below.
